Never let it be said that I am not a big geek.
I walked through the office where one of this season's Doctor Who episodes was playing, on my way out the door to rehearsal. I paused in the doorway, and listened for a moment. "Oh," I said, "Cloister bell. That's bad."

(I will be very disappointed if in fact they used that sound effect and it wasn't the cloister bell.)

Is it the brand newest episode, the one that played yesterday? If so, may well be the cloister bell, and may well be used properly. Otherwise, I am not sure which episode it was in...
