Last night there were skinheads on my lawn
Time for another movie report, since that's about all that seems to be going on in my life right now, he said with a strong measure of bitterness and frustration.
However, Romeo Must Die was far better than reviews made it out to be. Of course, it did have Jet Li, and my hurdles for a HK film are a lot lower than they might be for other films. Plot holes? Screw 'em. Character consistency is important, and not making me bored. Cool stunts, and heroics. This film has those things.
My congratulations to the 'mate for picking it out at the video store.
And today I got out and saw America's Sweethearts which was adorable and wonderful. John Cusak. *sigh* He's so dreamy. Billy Crystal, acting and writing, with whom I am almost always pleased. Hank Azaria, loads of coolness and an accent which nearly killed me. Christopher Walken, who has been previously noted in these entries and plays the Deus Ex Machina. Catherine Zeta-Jones, all gorgeous dark hair and eyes, seemed to really be acting, of which I approve. And I even liked Julia Roberts.
I went out and printed up several copies of books I'd written for Neil's LARP because I'm a huge freak. Oh, and the **HyperLink** I forgot for last week's entry is Denise's wonderful site where she advertises her services as a tailor. I've spent way too much money going up to Walnut Creek for her to make stuff and I still have a huge list. (I want a big flowy pirate coat. I did get my cassock though.)
