We've had a fancy new elliptical trainer for over 48 hours now, and I haven't touched it because I feel like crap and also because I'm too tired.

However, the scale says that I've dropped 72 pounds since I started my new diet two weeks ago.

Assuming there's no discrepancy between the scale at the doctor's and the one at home.

Is that 16 kilos a week? The diabetic magazine says 500 g a week is good enough, and you should probably never lose more than a kilo a week. My English friend, a dietitian, thinks that when you lose weight fast you probably lose something other than fat.

I think the scale is just wrong. I mean, three days ago it thought I'd lost eight pounds in a week and a half, and that was almost credible but still probably exaggerated.

Sounds like it is:( I also heard from a local endocrinologist that true fat disintegration may start only after you stay on a 'zilch' diet for two or three months, and then you slightly toughen the regimen. Works with me, by the way.
