Gone out the window

And I just put over two hours of work into track selection on the Middle Eastern mix disc. At which point my computer kindly froze up and forced a reboot, thus assuring that all of the work would vanish.
I am now going to go do something else.

Isn't there some way you could save your work before your computer does that?

My suspicion is that if I quit out of the program entirely and then restart, it usually saves my work. But with a traumatic shutdown like that, the only guarrantee is a piece of notebook paper where I scrawl my selections down, or bringing up all the files I've chosen in the burning software.

The big problem, again, is that I lost track of how much time and energy I'd put into the work, because I was absorbed in it until I was wrenched out of it by the shut down and said to myself 'holy crap it's eleven o'clock.'

It would have been much less annoying if I weren't trying to get the thing burned to get to Ellie this afternoon. (I have since opted against this plan...)
By the way, I'm very sorry I missed you at the social yesterday, and have my fingers crossed that your back is getting better. *hug*
