Good news!
My local ASCAP representative (Bryn Caryl) has just allayed my fears that if I am singing the Buzzcocks' "Why Can't I Touch It" as I walk down the street, I cannot be sued for giving a live public performance of a copyrighted work without license.
The city would be sued instead, as it is a public space owned by the city.
