Don't take your gun to town

I am on the mailing list for an internet site that sells rifle and pistol ammunition. Today I got email from them that opened thusly:

"Hey Gunners! Last week we were hit with a huge onslaught of demand... around 10pm Tuesday night when Ohio was called we saw our volume increase by 400%!"

I'm assuming that this refers to the stone cold conviction that President Obama hungers for the innocent blood of citizen sidearms. I know I have Weapon-Bearing Americans on my list--do any of you know if he's actually done anything, beyond existing, to incite the full throated call to buy lots of guns before he takes them all away?

As far as I know. he's put citizens with guns in national parks and trains, and that's all he's done regarding Second Amendment rights. The NDAA might, if you look at it from the right angle and squint, play a part, but I'm not really seeing it otherwise.

Sigh.

Also, deer season is also in November.

Marketing! Since you can use Memorial Day to sell shoes and furniture, why not use Election Day to promote ammo?

These guys were at least kind of subtle about it. No talk leading up to the election, and just this glancing blow a week after.

Nothing that I know of, but it's a pernicious myth, especially in rural areas. Part of the reason .385 Magnum and .45 ammo is so expensive right now is that some folks are so convinced Obama's going to outlaw their guns that they're buying huge stocks. Which, as you can imagine, makes things nice for the rest of us who just want to shoot at some bottles now and then. Sigh.

The Big Bottle Machine is trying to shut you down!
