So it appears that Universal is publically admitting that CDs are amazingly overpriced, and are planning on dropping their prices dramatically. I think I will try to save a little cash to support this move.

Paul Hill, who said he couldn't wait to meet God, has. I wish I could be there to watch.

And France and Germany say they like the idea of the US UN proposal, but they think that the UN should 'take the lead' in restoration, since the US seems to have lost track of its primary goal, restoring self-rule in Iraq.
Remember when G-Bu said he felt we should deal with humility on the international stage? Looks like here's his big chance.

And have I mentioned how much it irks me when, in the face of all the bad news about the economy, it seems that all anybody really looks at is how well the stock market is doing to decide whether people are doing well in this country?
While I understand that the performance of the stock market sends ripples into the rest of the economy, I also feel that the only people who are directly affected by a good stock market are probably the same people who directly benefit from Bush's latest round of income tax cuts.

As I noted in my own journal, I think the lowering of CD prices is a move of desperation by Universal Music Group. The "if you can't beat 'em (or litigate 'em), join 'em" mentality. I thoroughly support the move, but I also have neither a Mac nor an iPod.

I will forgive you the Al Franken quote only because I agree with you on so many other things. My opinion of Mr. Franken is unprintable. So is my opinion of Fox News Reich -- I mean Corp -- for trying to stop his book from being published.

My own theory about Universal is that they're going to start releasing everything on copy-protected "CDs" at the same time, the lower prices theoretically cancelling out the consumers' reluctance to accept such discs.

I'm against the death penalty, even for low life pondscum like Paul Hill. I hope that when he sees Jesus, Jesus says, "Paul. You were wrong. But fortunately, a devil's been put aside for you."

Really? When did the U.S. lose track of that? Here's what I think: Better to throw a bone to the Democrats in the Senate now than next year during the prime-time election cycle.

Thank goodness all U.S. foreign policy will be approved by our European mastersallies herein. I'm certain they have our country's national interests in mind.

Over 50% of Americans have investments in the stock market these days, most through tax deferred savings programs. The stock market: It isn't just for rich white men any more.

Of course, that doesn't mean I think the stock market's trend is rational. But an upward trend beats a downward trend.

Gawd. This is like reading an autistic Ann Coulter in reverse. I'd like to think that leftist commentators like Franken have something worthwhile to say other than "That Bill O'Reilly. He's stupid. He sucks. Conservatives are infantile morons. Nannie nannie, boo boo." Talk about ridiculous over generalizations.

Yeah, I'm opposed to the death penalty, mostly because of the (admittedly small) chance of the innocent being wrongly killed.
This fellow, even though he was a terrorist, I didn't want him executed. But I'm glad he was looking forward to it. And if he sees Jesus/Allah/JHVH/Metatron/etc, he gets the response appropriate for all people who think God wants them to kill people for her.

I'm hoping that in the future our President will have our country's national interests in mind. That way we can avoid going to the UN, hat in hand, saying "Um. Can you spare a billion for a humanitarian nation-building project?" Especially after telling them how irrelevant they are.

Oh definitely. I just get really irritated when I hear news commentators gush over how the stock market is setting thirteen month record highs and so the recession is finally over (I hear that the recession is 'finally over' the first business day of each month), and then the next item is, 'Oh, by the way, there's also a six percent increase in the number of people filing for unemployment for the first time'.

The last book I read from Al Franken was "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot"; I was not expecting a book free from ridiculous overgeneralizations. (:
