Burn the land, Boil the sea

So I'm thinking of running a one-shot Firefly game at OryCon. I'm trying to think of western tropes that they didn't get around to using on the show, and I suppose I might as well try to think of some sort of plot as well. Suggestions are welcome. (I will not be using the Serenity, or the main cast members. I will likely have Badger as an NPC, but the PCs will likely all be from off-screen.)

Western Tropes...

I never saw much Firefly, but there're a few western tropes that are magical for rpgs. Checkout: The Searchers, The Outlaw Josey Whales, Treasure of the Sierra Madre (not quite a western but it works), Butch Cassady and the Sundance Kid (with players as either the lovable rogues or as the bounty hunter dream team), Big Jake, Davey Crockett and the River Pirates (no really), and if you're plum out of ideas for plot, the classic RPG fodder western... The Magnificent Seven. If you're in the mood for PVP go with The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. Have fun.

Mmmm. It's very tempting to do a Sierra Madre game, especially since, with it being a con game, the players will likely never see each other again afterwards and thus no grievous bodily harm will come of it.
Big Jake?
(I'm guessing you came upon my page through The Bureau, which amuses me greatly, as it hit my list through my Ar Noir game.)
