It's good enough for me

Stolen from lilisona by way of spenceraloysius, because it reminds me of the Invisible Massless Purple Unicorns from college:
An open letter to the Kansas state School Board.
I may need the 'I was touched by his noodly appendage' T-shirt.

(Ms. Lilith? Do you suppose any of the readers of your column live in Kansas? I'm sure faxes sent from there would bear far more weight with the god fearing members of the Board.)

I have been considering getting one of those shirts myself for a couple of weeks now. :)

I'm using my pirates icon in all my replies as a faithful attempt to fight global warming.

Do the pirates fight chlorofluorocarrrrrrrrrrrrbons?

(Yes, yes, ozone ~= global warming, but I couldn't find an "arr" in any of the relevant words so I fudged it a little. So sue me.)

Avast, me hearty! Any effort for the cause is a worthy one, aye.

I've changed my mind.
Now I want a T-shirt that says 'WWFSMD?'
Of course, it'd have to be in a non-white color because while I am moose sized I am avoiding wearing white T-shirts in public because I look like the movie screen at a cinema.

[identity profile] jakejr.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 12:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee, that'd work, too. Although I suspect that the answer to WWFSMD is always going to be "touch you with his noodly appendage."

And feh, I say wear what you want.

I suspect that the answer to WWFSMD is always going to be "touch you with his noodly appendage."

And you think I would find that advice somehow hard to follow? (:

And feh, I say wear what you want.

Admirable advice. I hope to be able to follow it at some point, but I'm still not that secure.

[identity profile] jakejr.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 12:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Now, I didn't say you'd find it hard to follow at all. I know you better than that. ;)

And on my part it's less to do with secure and more to do with "Fuck 'em if they don't like it." Which, arguably, is a secure-ness thing, I suppose.

noodly appendage...

Are we saying that the flying spaghetti monster has Erectile Dysfunction?

What would Hector do?

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 11:09 am (UTC)(link)
Um. Challenge Ajax to single combat?

[identity profile] lilithsaintcrow.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 10:51 am (UTC)(link)
OMG I so totally have to blog this but it will have to wait for Monday. Mind it I steal the link (giving you proper credit of course)?

Part of the reason I posted it was to ensure this nugget got spread around, especially with the fax numbers of the board members. I feel that it's important that Faith-Based Teaching receive its proper place in the public school systems.

[identity profile] lilithsaintcrow.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 11:23 am (UTC)(link)
Which is, in my opinion, firmly in the rubbish bin with the sludgy rotton banana peels and rancid rice.

I will blog it on Monday and see if I can't get a few more people interested in it. :) You're a doll.

[identity profile] mnarra.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 11:27 am (UTC)(link)
No, the proper place is in the anthropology classes and comparative religion classes that all K-12 students take.

Er. I mean, if our K-12 system taught that sort of thing, instead of repeated selections of Slanted American History.

[identity profile] lilithsaintcrow.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 11:44 am (UTC)(link)
Point. Hey, did you ever read Lies My Teacher Told Me?

[identity profile] mnarra.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 12:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Hum. P'raps that should be taught in history class.

While I can't say that I subscribe to FSMism, I do find that it is neither incompatible with nor contradictory to my personal spiritual beliefs. I, for one, welcome our noodle-appendaged overlord.

My favorite among the "interesting e-mails":
Thank-you for supporting this cause. It's about time we Pastafarians got some vaildation.

    Your's Linguinistically,

    de
And "Pastafarian" was the exact name I was thinking of!

GMPA.

(Great minds pun alike.)
