Sick of myself when I look at you

Not sick of myself. Just sick. I put my hand to my forehead and claim I have a 'malaise', which is apparently a word the French use to indicate they're feeling sub-par for some reason. This is why I've done very little this weekend, including keeping everybody up to date on the fact that I'm not doing anything.
Okay, I have accomplished one or two things, almost all of them yesterday. I re-wrote my resume for this QA job at Sony that Michael Wilson (Not the Michael Wilson in the Beach Boys--that's Brian Wilson) has advised me of. I also have thrown away several versions of a cover letter to go along with it because I couldn't stand the sight of them. And I made this lovely chili that involved about 16 hours of sitting around and waiting and then an hour of poking idly at the bowl because although it smelled lovely and I knew I had to eat, I didn't feel like eating anything. But there were lovely chunks of beef, and since I had no tomato sauce I used salsa, and it did make the house very pleasant to be in. Which is good because I haven't left it.
As a side note, I should remember that when I feel completely miserable, on occasion Moog Cookbook is cheering. I have both their albums stored on my computer now for further 'In case of (x) break glass' incidents.

do you want a side of ennui with that?

It's malise and not ennui? Or maybe it's both. And you've finished every project that you've ever started? If not, go do that for awhile. Then go start some new ones.

Hope you feel better.

Yeah, it's definitely a malaise. Headaches, lassitude, stomach troubles. Nothing I can call 'being sick' but it's very tiring.

Then put in a supply of liquids within easy reach and go to bed and stay there until you feel better. Or you could do the American thing and pump yourself full of drugs and then ignore it until you keel over.
