He's going for speed
It's nice that it took three years of driving for my automotive nightmare to come true. It does not, however, reassure me that really driving is safe and fun.
I was on my way home from work, about a quarter mile from the Rengstorff exit, when suddenly this big white van leans into my lane. Apparently this vehicle was too large for the driver to notice me, and he started grinding against my rear left quarter. I managed to stay on the road, even though I couldn't find my horn, so it's a good thing he noticed that I was in the way.
He fell in behind me, and took my exit, so I assumed we were going to discuss the matter. However, when I pulled into the parking lot at the In&Out, he sped on past and probably took a right at the end of the road and ducked back out onto the freeway.
Since it was dark and I was rather distracted, I had very little to tell the police when I called them to report the incident. That combined with the lack of apparent damage beyond the cosmetic led me to decide not to file a formal report. I figure the most likely result is that my insurance company finds out and decides to raise my rates for arbitrary reasons.
Now I need sleep so I can be fresh and cheerful for the interview tomorrow morning.
PS: E? I was going to write you email when I got home, but I'm going to postpone that until I'm feeling less focused on death and dismemberment.
