I wanna see you sweat

Tonight, for the first time in probably six months, I managed to put together a week with three visits to the gymn. Go me!
The cardio portion of my routine is usually twenty-five minutes on the alpine thingy with target heart rate at 140. Most days I get between two or three miles on that setting. I was starting to feel a little comfortable so I decided it must be time to bump it up a little. Just a little--two heartbeats. Just to 142.
Kicked. My. Ass. And three and a half miles.
I also started a new muscle group on my weight training--lower back. Dunno why I didn't start sooner, given the amount of trouble it gives me. Hopefully I'll be able to get out of bed tomorrow.
And now I really want a doughnut.
mmmmmmmm. doughnut.

In other news, Nauti's mileage is definitely down. From 30-35 to about 28. Keeping an eye on it, as two tanks in a row is unsettling but not telling.

gas mileage

How long have you been tracking this?

Lower gas mileage can be tricky to diagnose. It could be something simple like a filter. Or it might be a seasonal or brand formula difference. Different gasoline formulas will cause differences in mileage.

You, my friend, need to listen to Car Talk. Believe it or not, this is how I have gained 95% of my automotive knowledge.

I've been tracking mileage since I got the car--the sudden change in levels was two tanks ago. This third tank, I bought the spendy petrol to see if that had any effect, although it has not made a difference in the past. With the tune up (between the first and second tank, as was the accident) I changed the fuel filter. Air filter has been changed with in the past couple of months. Oil was changed with the air filter.

And from what little I've heard of Car Talk, I believe you. I should see if they archive episodes on the web.

They don't do free archives on the Net. You have to pay Audible. But they current show is up all week for free. Use the link I provided and click "Our Lousy Radio Show."
