Just like a pill

Ah, the joys of self-medication.
Insomnia last night. About three hours of sleep. Today I got out the Diet Coke Rx, and am more or less chipper and alert.
Aside: I'm being so much better this year than last year. This HOLIDAY season, one Coke since... like the beginning of November or something, I think. Last HOLIDAY season, I was on a Coke a day (Not sure whether the regular or diet Coke is less healthy for me.....) and started smoking again.
Mmmmm. Clovey badness.

Not so clovey any more--I started again for... about two weeks last December because my job was stressing the living fuck out of me. But now chewing clove gum seems to cover it.

As a former "regular" cigarette addict, I never understood the appeal of clove smokes. For me it was always the "real thing" or marijuana, the latter of which was very tasty at times, (and still is.)

My first exposure to tobacco was pipe tobacco, which smelled good. Cloves smelled better, and tasted better, than the real thing. And they didn't require me to haul a pipe around with me. (:

I was hooked on nicotine from age 14 until 6 months ago. It wasn't just the smoke, the nicotine "did things" for (to?) me.
