Show must go on

Note to self (and, likely, others): OSF this season

Cyrano de Bergerac (7.6-7.10)
Two Gentlemen of Verona (8.6-8.10)
Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde (?) (26.7-28.10) (No birthday trip)
Importance of Being Earnest (?) (19.2-29.10)

Scott: How do you feel about a houseguest on the weekend of 6 July?
If people don't actually want to go to the show I can rent a car from the MFR airport or something.
Anybody else: Want to go to Ashland on the weekend of 6 July?

Prices to check: Auto rental. Bed/Breakfast places.

Edit: How tied am I to the 4 July weekend, which is bound to be a popular holiday weekend and also beastly hot? Do I want to possibly aim for sometime other? September maybe? I should call the box office and see if they have suggestions.

Further Edit: Feeling more and more happy with celebrating my birthday trip to Ashland in late September. Don't know when school starts again but it shouldn't interfere with the trip. Plus, later trip means that if I want to see Jeckyll and Hyde then I can.

....I must find a way down there for The Importance of Being Earnest. That's one of my favorite shows ever!!!

Let me know if you want to plan something. (:

My biggest concern at the moment is figuring out how close the train can get me to Ashland. And/or which of my friends are up for a road-trip. :D

Are you another person who doesn't fly?

Nah, I like flying, I just prefer the cheapest solutions possible. If I'm going to buy airline tickets, I want it to be to somewhere farther away that southern Oregon.

What do OSF and the numbers mean?

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2006-02-26 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
"OSF" is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The numbers are the dates each show runs.

I've gone more years than not since 1990, so let me know if I can give any info. July conflicts with a wedding I think. September is usually a vastly less crowded but still nice time to go. You just need a sweatshirt in the Elizabethan after dark, is all.

Do you want to coordinate a trip? Or just offer helpful advice? (:

[identity profile] jakejr.livejournal.com 2006-02-26 08:29 am (UTC)(link)
I've got to wait a while to see how a couple of other summer/fall plans line up before I can figure out when I'm going this year, but if it works I'd be happy to go with, or offer advice if it doesn't, whatever. :)

Excited & pleased. Or for any other weekend.

Hey there, buddy...I know that we barely know each other, but if you want companions/driving buddies/someone to share expenses...

I'M THERE!

I'm going up in April, but most of the really cool shows won't have opened yet, so I'd love to go back again for Earnest/Jekyll/etc. And most of my theatre friends are poor 20 year olds that can't afford to go..

Keep me in your plans, 'k?

**SQUEAK**
Um. That would not suck at all. I'm... kind of disappointed that Jake's the only one who's shown even passing interest in attending. And yeah, I'm currently thinking late September, possibly the twenty-ninthish.
