So it appears that I've misplaced my new cel phone, probably sometime on Tuesday. So if you've been desperately trying to reach me and haven't, that might be the reason.
If it's in the apartment, it's shut off because I called myself and wandered the vast reaches of our estate without hearing 'La Habanera' once.

When you called the number, did it ring, or go right to VM?

If it it went right to VM, it's either turned off or out of power, and I think 'hosed' is the correct conclusion. :/

If it rang, did you let it keep ringing? Sometimes people will answer it, if so (can you tell I've lost my cell phone a couple of times?)

You may want to continue trying to call it periodically, especially during the day, for the next few days. Try it at different hours. Maybe if someone hears it, they'll answer it and you can then arrange to retrieve it.

Take the cordless handset down to the car with you (while it's parked in front of the apartment) and try calling it again?

I think the cordless in your room's supposed to have at least a hundred feet radius. Which is why I think if you park in front of the apt, it *should* reach. :)
