Chalmette by moonlight, to take away the pain

Grabbed from the Wikipedia entry for Spider Stacey because it amused me:
Peter "Spider" Stacy (born 14 December, 1958) is one of the founding members of the Celtic rock band The Pogues. Stacy got his start in music in London's punk scene during the late 1970s as frontman for The Millwall Chainsaws. In 1981 he joined with Shane MacGowan, Jem Finer and James Fearnley, to form the Pogues, and is credited with naming the band. Initially, being one of the less musically-inclined members of the band, his role was confined to backing vocals, and hitting a beer tray against his head. Faced with either having to learn an instrument or the likelihood of having to leave the band, Stacy learned to play the tin whistle, which remained his role until the departure of MacGowan left him with lead vocal duties.

I saw a Pogues concert when they came through Seattle in the early '90s.

It makes so much more sense now.

And since they were voted in Rolling Stone's 'Fifty Bands You Must See in Concert' I'm glad we opted to go.

OMG. I couldn't remember whether I saw them with you. I feel like such an ass now. Or an old person. Or both.

Heh. I've forgotten enough (birthdays, girlfriends, whatever) that I certainly have no room to talk. (:
I do remember going... to Amoeba maybe? And rifling through the used CDs and finding the little tag that said This Band is giving a concert on this date, and I said hunh. Isn't that date today? Hey, we should totally go!
