I was ... I think I started out looking at stuff related to Don't Rest Your Head and then got to looking at Dogs in the Vineyard (and will probably soon be looking at Dead Inside because they're cutting edge RP stuff and I wants me some) when I got distracted by Kill Puppies for Satan. Which I admit I find interesting enough to read more about.
And I find this excerpt from the gamebook:
being the gm is the shit, and also bullshit. the shit because you get to toy with peoples' little lives, bullshit because it's like the goddamn sims, their little bladder meter goes all the way to the red and they can't figure out for them stupid selves to get off the stupid couch and go to the stupid bathroom. no, you gotta click on the little thing, and click on the other little thing, and they spend so long in there that they miss their carpool and get fired, and then they come crying to you, wah wah wah. feebs.
I'm trying to decide if this bears any relation to my experience with GMing or not, but it makes me smile.
You should read the excerpts if you are a sick and twisted fuck. Or you're looking for some seriously irreverent amusement.

Dogs is... well. Dogs is brilliance in a can, enough so that I figure at this point it's sort of a "staple" of indie gaming. If you like indie games, you must own Dogs already, that sort of thing. Teaches a lot about how to Do It Right, too.
KPFS is one of those games that I admire from a distance, but I'm not sure I'd ever really want to get into it. It's definitely fun, but a very specific niche sort of fun.
One game you haven't mentioned: Polaris. Oh dear god, get you some Polaris. I think someone said (more or less), "I'm not sure if it's a poem or a game, but I love it." And if someone didn't say that then, well, I am.

And I don't know if I'd want to *play* KPFS but I sure as hell liked reading the excerpts. Despite the typographical stuff that usually drives me fugbuck.

It's a fairytale apocalypse at the north pole, in the dawn before the first sunrise.
