You're an original, baby

Hunh. While trying to find the show that Miss Friday suggested I watch, I notice that SciFi channel is claiming Doctor Who as SciFi original programming. Perhaps I'm just muzzy on what 'original' means here.
Oo! Dresden Files!

Original programming is different than original series. And just because it was broadcast first in the UK, that doesn't mean it's been on real TV.

Funny thing is when I hear SciFi Original I think turn it off, it's cr*p

Well yes, but there's pretty much no original programming (even when it's an original series) on Real TV. Unless it's a procedural crime drama--why don't they try writing one of those? I think that people would really dig it.

I get that muzzy feeling whenever I hear someone refer to "the second season" or somesuch of Doctor Who. Dude, that show in, like, it's thirty-fifth season or something?

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I get that occasionally, but after seeing both of the new series, I totally understand it. Throwing aside the whole 'it isn't consecutive any more' argument, it really feels like a different show.

Yeah... this one has a budget and special effects. :)

And some character depth, and a sense of consequence for actions, and...
