That's what you get, folks

So the night I heard about the Compromise(sic) on the bill defining Section Three of the Geneva Convention and covering the administration's ass retroactively against war crimes, I sent mail to both my Senators. You will not be shocked to learn that last week Sen. Feinstein sent a wishy washy letter saying 'This issue certainly deserves to be investigated, and I will be sure to look at both sides of the issue'. And today Senator Boxer's mail arrived, saying 'Damn straight this is awful news. And I'm proud of the fact that I voted against it.'

In other news, I was watching Evolution (Shut up. It was an Ethan Hawke film festival. Plus, it was better than I expected. Shut up.) and got to thinking. The big advantage to sexual reproduction (outside of having sex) is genetic variation, right? Can somebody confirm or deny this?

Yah, more or less. You get to swap the alleles around and maybe find exciting new combinations.

But I bet microbes enjoy conjugation just fine.

Confirm.
