It's a thousand pages, give or take a few
I think my latest book has defeated me. It's Tyerman's 900 page epic on the Crusades, thirty years in the writing, and there are just too many names and too much detail. I'm no longer even registering new facts as I read; all the information is either spilling out the sides of my brain or mixing in and creating a sort of crusadey-colored mush in my memory.
