You take me up to a higher ground

There is less hate.
I am not at work.
I got virtual hugs from Cerulean_Me.
It rained a little.
Carabosse's eighties DVD arrived in the post today!
Caredhel bought me a wolf! (Through Defenders of Wildlife.)*
When I got home, there was an anonymous gift left on my couch of a pack of cloves and a book I had been wanting to own in pretty wrapping paper.
I do not recall the copies of 'Dubliners' and John M. Ford's Star Trek novel being in my room, but it is entirely possible that they were there all along.
Prezzies and hugs are good for my mood, apparently. Who'da thunk?

*Tersa, she also gifted you with the knitting bag in the living room!

3 AM UPDATE: Bah. How can iTunes *not* have Julie Brown's Homecoming Queen? I can understand not having Guadalcanal Diary, or Tragic Mulatto, or the Hickoids, or any number of other bands I played at KBVR, but that seems a rather awkward hole.

If you're talking about the Homecoming Queen's Got a Gun song, it's on my DVDs in Various - Dr. Demento's Anniversary folder.

Yeah, I think I remember seeing it. I'm more pondering the logistics for how record companies and Apple work out what's in the store, you know? (And also thinking 'Why didn't *THAT* go on my eighties disc? Duh!')

I can try to remember to check my dr demento CDs for it also

The anonymous gift was from [livejournal.com profile] tavella. :)

(Augh! More bags! *flail*)

I've got Homecoming Queen on my ipod.
Shall I email?

Nah, I'm good. Unlike many of the other songs I was looking for, that one I actually own. I was just doing a checklist of 'songs I played when I was on the radio' and that absence struck me as odd. They don't have Klaus Floride either.

ITunes does not have a lot in its store believe me.

If they have an agreement with the record company, there are probably technical hangups with the artist and/or someone else involved with the song's production. Or, being greedy, the agreement stipulates the back catalog be issued incrementally to increase customer demand.

It makes me feel less guilty for not paying for music.

My philosophy is that if the legitimate businesses don't want to supply the product, then I shall go find the product elsewhere, thank you very much.

In the end they only screw themselves, unless they have tight enough control (read - Disney).

That's a great song. I've got it if you can't find your copy.
