I'll be writing more in a week or two

I have seen one review of Children of Men. And if I had needed any selling, that would have done it. So there's that. Pan's Labyrinth. I get the impression that there are quite a few films out that I need to see. Anybody? Recommendations? Reminders?

I should take some of the 'better' answers to Friday questions and make a web page. Then a famous publisher will see it and ask me to make it a book. Which will become a best selling series. And then I can use my literary fame as a platform to publish my fiction. And to do talk shows, which would lead to me getting bit parts in hip sitcoms and from there supporting roles in cult films and venues for my band to play in.

Because that would rock.

Not necessarily all current, but here's my list of "Want to Sees"

The Queen
The History Boys
Inland Empire
Copying Beethoven
Our Daily Bread
For Your Consideration

Excellent!
Sue just saw The Queen and was quite pleased with it.

It has its flaws, mind you. For example, James Cromwell can't do an English accent to save his soul. Though, I must admit, the idea of someone with the last name "Cromwell" playing a royal amused me to no end. And Helen Mirren deserves all the praise she's been getting for her performance and then some.

I saw a trailer for The History Boys while I was at the theatre, and that looked quite good. I also keep hearing amazing things about Pan's Labyrinth.

I enjoyed CoM. But Pan's Labyrinth = movie of the year for me, totally knocking The Fountain out of the #1 slot. I've seen the damn thing three times already. The Holiday was cute fluff if you want man-candy. (I still can't figure out who's hotter: Jack Black or Jude Law. The dilemmas in my life, I tell you.)

Other upcoming releases the bird's looking forward to:

+ Blood & Chocolate (omg werewolves!)
+ Alpha Dog (omg Justin Timberlake!)
+ Zodiac
+ Bridge to Terabithia

Tha's all. :)

The Holiday? I don't recall hearing anything about it, but if it's got mancandy.... And I don't mind Jack Black so long as he doesn't try to be funny. Jude's the winner hands down for me.
The Fountain--I've heard it was kind of muddled and confusing. Is that just because people are used to having their movies spelled out for them?
