Well, Billy Joe never had a lick of sense; pass the biscuits please.
Checking in quickly. I'm told I'm developing a fine case of accent. I got my black eyed peas, and while there were no collard greens there *were* turnip greens so I'm hoping that's lucky enough.
Yesterday for lunch, I completely went off diet. But there were fried okra, fried pickle, fried shrimp and jambalaya which I nearly sent back because it wasn't batter dipped.
And then at the New Year's gathering there was further off diet because it was a potluck so there was a glass of soda and sausages in mustard sauce and lots of meat with extra fat and sodium and lots of baked goods and starch.
I'm going to start trying to be good again now.
See y'all soon!

I should warn that this is a Texas accent, and I'm not sure if that really counts as Southern. (:

Do black-eyed peas taste as much like dirt as I've heard?

They're beans, much like any other. (:
