Like Winter in July
Today there was much fine and noble gardening--the shaping and propagation of life, and the destruction of many weeds and plants that I don't like. The back yard looks lovely, and soon the 'mate will be getting pots of her own and there will be even more lovely plants frolicking there. The ugly palm-like plants still haunt us, but they seem to be dying of fin rot or the botanical equivalent. Their pithy phylum on many of the stems is black and necrotic. I want to move the rosemary bush and possibly rearrange the mini-rose and put two(!) of them in that space.
And we put mint and thyme and herbage in the front into that awful bare spot by the door, and I'll cross my fingers and hope the groundskeepers don't decide they're weedy and uproot them.
After all the dirt-under-fingernails, I thought 'hrm... what if we watched videos that make me want to run games where the Ramones make frequent cameos?' And so I subjected Ellie (who one would otherwise think was a dearly loved friend) to Six String Samurai and a borrowed copy of Wild Zero. (In fact, SSS is referenced in the IMDb entry for WZ.)
Right now, there's a commerical for an electric car called Think Neighbor which looks a lot like a golf cart. It's got open sides instead of an open top, but it still reminds me of a convertible.

And that's my rant for the day.
