First day report.
Things about Baycon I'm beginning to understand:
The little sticky ribbon things on your name tag.
Things about Baycon I fail to get:
Masquerade, unless you're one of the first ten people in line who actually get to see anything during the Masquerade. (Which I was not. But I stayed for the award presentation and I got to see the costumes for Dumbledore's Musical Army!)
Things about cons that are still dangerous:
The Dealer's Room. Major consumer accident today.
Still happening:
Getting lost in the hotel trying to find things.
There is/are lots of:
Social hanging out time with Roo and her friends. Cute girls. Cute boys. Geeks who promote those social behavior patterns that make me want to avoid geeks. People I haven't seen in forever.
There's probably more but my brain is all melty. Cute pirates! And Jim! And a Megs cameo! Sparkly!

As for Masquerade, there apparently was going to be a raised stage, but then there's some law or rule that says the seating has to be back from any raised stage X number of feet, and that would have meant even less room for an audience. So bigger audience... all of whom can't see the goings on. Not the best solution, in my eyes.
Since BayCon is at this venue for the next two years, I really think they are going to have to find a better/bigger space for the Masquerade. But thank you for staying through the awards! It was nice to see a familiar face in the crowd. :)
