I love you I'm not gonna crack

For reasons I am not at liberty to disclose, I ask:
Is anybody aware of an open position that fits my current skill set? (A job at a university with free/discounted tuition would be tasty.) I'm working as a customer support agent right now with an email deliverability and reputation management firm, but those of you who know me better are aware that I'm capable of other things.

I am not currently unemployed, and my mother should not freak out. Details will be forthcoming, but for now I'm just gathering information

Can you teach English/Writing? Niagra Falls is crying for a Professor who'd be able to teach some critical writing skills, according to [livejournal.com profile] eeyorerin

I'm not a Professor (I don't even have a BA) but I suspect that I could teach. (: My friends who are teachers will probably disabuse me of this fantasy very quickly.

I'm sure I could find you something in Houston, but...well...Houston.

bleh. *hug*

*hugs* Houston is probably not the end of the world. And at least I would know somebody there. (:

Didn't we just talk about this a few days ago?

I assume that "I'd miss the ocean" is still a requirement as well.

For those of us you have not actually talked to you about professional-type things, what "other things" are you capable of, and what do you define as your "current skill set"?

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2008-07-30 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe we did. (:
And I haven't defined my 'current skill set', but given the time to sit down and assemble something I could provide a list.

[identity profile] amanda_lodden.livejournal.com 2008-07-30 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
A list would be a good idea. In fact, let's make it two lists: of your skill set and of your requirements.

This sounds like way more work than I'm prepared for in the next couple of days, but I'll look into it on the weekend.

I think they would probably love you at proofpoint... do you have a resume I can pass on to them? I interviewed there and it looked like a good gig but not exactly what I was looking for.

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2008-07-30 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I'd need to update it with my new position, but I should definitely have a resume around here.

You could work at the desk next to mine.

Don't be scared off by a lack of accounting background. You're qualified and then some.

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2008-07-30 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmmmm.
And there would be an ocean somewhere nearby. (:

[identity profile] mnarra.livejournal.com 2008-07-30 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
There would. And a crowd to play with -- I'm working on Cera, as well.

[identity profile] mostuff.livejournal.com 2008-07-30 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I could use a houseboy.

[identity profile] amanda_lodden.livejournal.com 2008-07-30 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait, is that one of the options? That opens up the field quite a bit...

[identity profile] mostuff.livejournal.com 2008-07-30 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Not sure if it's an option or not for him. I know it's one for me! ;)
