The End of Live Journal As We Know It (and I feel fine)

Many of you have likely heard about the layoffs in the LJ offices. I am not starting the air raid sirens and heading to the bunkers yet, but once the traffic at the 'archive your journal' sites dies down a little I'll probably do that. Seven years of journal could take a while though.

I also created a cyranocyrano account at insanejournal.com because some bastard created the 'Cyrano' account a few years back and then never posted to it nor commented from it. Kind of like here at LJ. q:
I was going to do the same at deadjournal, but it requires an invitation or a donation and I have neither at this moment.

I followed your lead and generated an account on "Insane Journal."

My user name is: phillipalden (Just like my Live Journal name)

Backups are never a bad plan to have in general. Which "archive your journal" site are you using? I used LJ's built-in backup system once but it didn't keep any of the comments.

I'm using LJArchive. It not only lets me keep comments, but it doesn't make me do it one month at a time. (Eight times twelve equals I'm not that interested.)

How does on archive their livejournal?

I use a software I just downloaded called LJArchive. I found it pretty easy to use. There's an 'archive' function on the LJ website but it only does one month at a time and does not archive comments.

Can you send me the link, pretty please?

Either use http://sourceforge.net/projects/ljarchive/, or the link in the comment thread above. (:

EDIT: Oh good, this one turned clickable too, once I posted.
