cyrano: (I want to go home)

Goin' to the country. Gonna eat a lot of peaches.

I've been quiet lately. Unemployed, stressing over lack of income and sudden emergence of problems that need money applied to them, and trying not to spend as much time in front of the computer. It looks like the DoS problems are still keeping LJ and FB from talking to each other. So yeah, not a whole lot to say that seems worth the saying. I'm still alive, and I have two words for all of you.

Fruit salsa.

Are you familiar with John Prine?

Blow up your TV, throw away your paper
Move to the country, build you a home
Plant a little garden, eat a lot of peaches
Try and find Jesus on your own.

I first heard of John Prine back when I was working at KBVR. It's also where I discovered Russ Tolman, Stan Ridgeway, and Lloyd Cole, while I'm name dropping. He's another one where I'm familiar with the name but not the oeuvre.

I can't look at my computer at home just now, but I'm fairly certain I included some John Prine on that disc I made for you.

This would not surprise me. And sooner or later I'm going to have to more fully investigate that disc.

Just put it on shuffle and see what pops up.

Unfortunately, it's in DVD format. I have nothing that will play it on shuffle.

I would think iTunes would be able to read it.

I had strawberry sushi last night...that's kinda like fruit salsa, except completely different.

I've had a variety of vegetarian sushis, including the acquired taste ume shiso, but never anything like that.

This was actually a fish sushi roll accented with diced strawberries. It was soggy and not as good as I'd hoped. The same place does have a roll with salmon, mango, and apple that's quite good, though.
