Me and Lucifer, Lucifer and me.
Here's how it started: Me thinking it's a shame that my computer and car stereos don't have decent sound quality, because it means I have to listen to my iPod if I really want decent sound. Which is tricky in the shower.
Then I thought, Hey. I have a stereo. I stopped playing CDs in it a long time ago, because at one point it suddenly seized up and had a CD-player meltdown. The radio and cassette deck still worked, but no CD. And it wouldn't eject anything, so for a couple of years I had lost whatever was in there.
But! Now I have CD burning capabilities! Although iTunes apparently thinks I should upgrade my hardware, because I'm getting a lot of unknown errors and 'I can't find a disc' complaints. But I finally cajoled it into actually chewing through a copy of "To Serve Moog" and...
My stereo is old enough that it doesn't recognize home burned CDs.
These are the days of miracle and wonder.

It's probably not feasible to use it as an alarm (Or maybe it is. Do fancy iPods have alarm capability?) but it'd work!

P.S. I have a spare boombox that recognizes homemade CDs most of the time.
