I just re-read that first page or so of "Doorway into Summer"--before we get to him in the bar with his cat. I'd forgotten how comfortable that bit was, what a nice piece of writing. Thanks, RAH.

Door Into Summer is actually one of the few RAHs I've never read.

But he was really excellent at the craft of writing, and it's almost never easy to put down one of his books once you've picked it up.
