The ides of March are come.

Soothsayer

Ay, Caesar; but not gone.

Hunh. I did not know that the Ides of April was the thirteenth.

?? I thought the ides referred to the middle of the month. So what is it really?

There was no actual explanation given. They just said that the Ides of March, May, July and October, was the fifteenth. For all the other months it was the thirteenth.
