Killing Jason off and countless screaming Argonauts

I am no longer as furious as I was this afternoon. So I spent lots of time being furious which means all the CRAP I was going to do after work has been put off. Crap.

So. They changed my schedule at SkyWest. Again. And they didn't tell me until seven hours into the first shift that had changed. I am now working from 5.45 to 14.15 Sunday through Thursday. What pisses me off is not the new schedule. It's the fact that they didn't bother to tell me. One of the people on my shift with me frowned when I said I should get going, and said 'Hunh. Angie said you were on until two-fifteen'.

And, by golly, I was. So they got me to drive a car. And they got me to cut my hair. And they got me to wear their costume. And sometimes I feel that now they're just yanking on my leash to see if they can make me dance. I don't want to think what they'll do now that they've found they can.

Debbie was, as usual, understanding and accomodating. I told her my days off had changed and she shook her head and smiled and said let's get the schedule and I'll rewrite it.

Anyway. I have a lot of things to do. So I'll be going.

Ok, you know, I was like, "Maybe they're just disorganized."

THAT is fucking STUPID, however.

Just in case you needed some, you know, reality checks.

I know what it feels like...

The same thing happened to me when I first started @ AT&T.

You CUT your HAIR?

I'll just be over here.

The mantra to repeat is:
There's nothing wrong with an employer who wants the employee to present a professional image. People feel threatened by men with long hair, and do not trust them. The issue is not about aesthetics, it's about conforming.

And Karsten assures me that I look just like a Congressman.

And Karsten assures me that I look just like a Congressman.

Imagine the vast depths of my reassurance, here.

Oh.

Wait.

I didn't notice that part. I think I'll hide now.

Not to put too fine a pint on it, say I'm the only bee in your bonnet

Yay gold star. (:
The way I subdued the homicidal rage was to shout along with my TMBG mix disc while driving home. 'Cowtown' was especially good for this, as was 'New York City'.
Cuz everyone's my friend in New York City.

what about

An Ng and their rendition of The lion sleeps tonight?

You must learn patience, grasshopper. Every employer with a shift schedule is going to change things mid-stream and yank your chain because you have no seniority and are still just happy to be there. Didn't they do that to you at Tower? They frequently did it to me.

Congressman? I didn't see that, but then you weren't in the right clothes. And, maybe the lighting was bad.

But, if you look at it, having Friday and Saturday off will be more accomodating to a normal social life.

Yes, but usually, they /tell you/ when your shift is changed on you...

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2002-09-10 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, Tower never did that to me. Debbie Lynn's never did. Neither did AltaVista. I apparently have been spoiled rotten.
