Odd side thing I noticed while watching the movie - the dude playing Mikael Blomkvist reminds me a lot of Liam Neeson. He doesn't have quite the same sonorous voice, but he has a similar open and honest face, and that sort of fatherly bearing that makes him really quite good in the role, and helps to balance out the preponderance of misogynistic male characters in the story.
