In Lothering, is it possible to actually have the merchant pull up stakes and leave you with no place to buy and sell until you find the dwarf on the road?

In the tavern, you can sell to the barkeep. The merchant has stuff the barkeep doesn't, though.

Hunh. I'm guessing that it's only if I chase off the merchant. However, the bartender was an excellent source of rumours. Or at least voluminous.

I just checked the wiki. Barlin is the other buyer & seller in Lothering. He is in the bar.

Barkeeps frequently double as merchants. Maybe the Lothering one doesn't because of Barlin being there.
