You've got to scratch and claw

Allergy tests today--126 pokes. And in the end, I have a mild reaction to mold and a reaction to dust mites. No pollen or dander, which surprised me.
I also have prescription level antihistamines and a nose squirter.

*shudder* Did those tests. No fun.

Beats passing a kidney stone!

Silver lining guy!

If you react to enough of the various pokes, they tell you that they can't tell which of the things you didn't seem to react to you really aren't allergic to, and you should come back and check those another time.

Or they tell you you're 'allergic to everything that grows'.

Probably still not as bad as a kidney stone, and I think I'd rather not find out from personal experience.

There comes a point where your body says "I'm not allergic to ANYTHING! GO AWAY! STOP POKING ME!"
And since I am fond of you and your body, I would softly advise the doctor that, yes, perhaps we should continue the poking at a later date.
Before it decides to muster up a kidney stone out of spite.

Point of clarification: the reason they do the needles AFTER the pokes in the back is that the needles are a higher dosage-- if you're allergic via the poke on the back, there's no need to check via the needle, it will just make you miserable and possibly send you into anaphylactic shock. They use the needles only for things you didn't react to. John, who reacts to lots of things on his back, only gets 11 of the needles.

Thus, you have a mild reaction to dust mites (because you didn't react to the poke version, but you did react to the needle) and a stronger reaction to mold (because you reacted to the poke version, and you reacted almost as strongly as you did to the control positive.)

That is an excellent thing to have clarified, and something I probably should have inferred from the procedure.

My mother would love it if I was allergic to both, it would be another reason to "motivate" me to clean more.

Glad to hear you didn't have to pass a kidney stone though!

Yeah, I just added a boatload of housecleaning to my routine. q: Still beats kidney stones.

PS: Saw your picture in the photo drop. You're cute--you have a very open and bright face.
