You'd better listen to the voice of reason

Okay. I have a playlist. I have audio drops in my best sick guy radio voice. I still have to do the pain in the ass file shuttle. I also have to ask you all for favors.

First: The art. Below the cut is the poster for the show. Feel free to stick these up around campus, around the office, on your forehead, make t-shirts, whatever. That's how people who are not reading my LJ are likely to hear about this project.

Second: IDs. I don't have to do IDs since this isn't broadcast, but it doesn't feel the same without them. Jello Biafra and Elvis Costello have both turned me down, but who cares about them anyway? I want *you*. Just record an MP3 file, say something like "This is ScaryWhiteGirl, author of "Donning the Helm" and you're listening to Vitamin Cyrano." "This is RoseNeko, internationally published critic, and I don't listen to Vitamin Cyrano." "Hi, I'm Ebonlock, and I'm looking for Tony Stark fanfic, and you're listening to Vitamin Cyrano." It's simple, it's easy, and it's a fun way to mock me in a hundred different creative ways.
The main things I'm looking to avoid are lots of background noise and pops off of hard consonants or hisses from fricatives.

How does one record an MP3 file? Assuming your standard desktop or laptop, and no microphone that I'm aware of... unless the PS3 has MP3 recording capabilities, or if the Rock Band USB mic works on a PC. :)

In fact, I'm using the Rock Band mike with my PC. (:
The software I'm using is a free download called "Audacity".
You open the programme, click on the 'record' button and talk into the mike (I've found about six inches away is good) and then click 'stop'.
Under 'File' is an option for 'Save as mp3' or something like that.

Alternately, the next time you're in Kansas, hop on up and see me. I'll book you some studio time. (:

Kansas is not nearly as close to Michigan as you think. :)

Enh. I just have a lower bar for 'possible' than sane people do. Besides, it's closer than Seattle.
