Who wants a story, then?

Hah! I found it!
I just read a story in one of the Year's Best collections, and I thought "I know many people who would like to read this. People who write things. Or people who read things. People who like fairy stories. People who would like fairy stories if only they weren't so.. You know?"

And so I found a copy of it online, so I could share it without making everybody come over to my house. Not that I would be opposed to this plan, but it seems unlikely to come about.

Therefore, I give you a link to "The Grammarian and Her Five Daughters" and if you're one of those types above I do urge you to click through. It's only a five or ten minute read.

Very cute. Somehow, I get the feeling Ruth Berman, to whom it is dedicated, was the author's first grade teacher or the like.

I haven't done much research, but I think this is the Ruth Berman in question.

Thank you so much. The story is especially good for language teachers.
