Enough middle fingers

The task of deciphering my brand new health care plan is exactly the sort of thing I should tackle when I'm feeling sick. I'd like to go see somebody in Urgent Care. Somewhere. Preferrably not Dublin. While 28 of the doctors on staff at the PAMF Los Altos are on my network, I cannot confirm that the Urgent Care there is on network. The hospital on Grant is on network, although what that exactly means is unclear. (Are all the doctors there in network? All the departments?) And I can't just call the facilities and ask if they're in network because apparently they have no idea.
At this point, drowning in my own phlegm sounds like a more pleasant alternative.

EDIT: The exceedingly competent PAMF advice nurse referred me to the Insurance Folks at the Palo Alto center, who said I was probably covered. And I have pants! Next stop: Wellville!

Although I have no personal experience with your health care plan, I would drive over to the hospital on Grant and go to their Urgent Care with your card and talk to the people at the desk and say 'am I covered with this?'

As I think it is likely that you are covered and you will then be admitted.

Or, well, not 'admitted', but probably allowed to see a doctor and stuff.

I am currently planning this option, and either being covered or biting the bullet (hopefully an urgent care visit won't top two hundred dollars in that case). The next step in my plan is to put on some pants.

What Tersa said. Or, call the exceedingly competent PAMF advice nurse hotline. They will, I'm sure, know the way of the system better than most of us. (650) 254-5250

Hrmm. I called Urgent Care at 254 5200 and they told me I had to ask my insurance provider. But this is a different number, and the worst that happens is they tell me the same thing.

I'm glad you're getting some care! *sends energy and hugs*

Need your mommy?

Hi, just got over being sick from going to AZ and now it is time to go again. Have you heard about Airbourne? Debbie made me take it when I was down there and it seemed to make it better, not all better but some. Then I came home and went to the doctor (be glad that you have some insurance). Gave me Ketel( I think that was it. Worked good, only 5 days. Call me some time to talk. Blessed be, the mother
