Hm. Used to be a Lament, but ... I'd say a ballad, because I'm kind of old fashioned and boringly domestic and my life has taken so many twists and turns and ups and downs...there have been so many chapters. I'm not important or famous and I haven't done anything special in my life, it's all been about the people I've met, hurt, helped. So a simple folk ballad.

My head is full of things, and none of them are comfortably coming out at the moment. The conflict is somewhat tiring.
As far as which piece of music? Even my gaming characters need playlists or soundtracks. A single piece of music isn't going to cut it for me.

Something with smooth bow-strings and minor harmonies and crunchy, angry guitar over a variable-tempo drum a la Dream Theater with occasional cameos by piano and sax (but never any brassy horns) and choral vocals.
Find me that piece of music... that's me. Because I'm just that complex, and because depending on what you think of me, I'm either very deep, or just a lot of noise.

I wrote "sex" instead of "sax". Fixed it. Finished writing. Noticed it somehow still said "sex". Typed "sex" again just now instead of "sax", in this aside. Subliminal much?

I would consider a symphony (Or even perhaps a concept album like 'Pieces of Eight' or 'Operation:Mindcrime') to be a 'piece'.

I think it depends entirely on my mood, but the closest I can think of to an all-purpose single song that suits me is Dark Eyes, by DeVotchKa. It's a dirge, a circus act, and is nearly impossible for me not to dance to when I hear it.

I was totally going to reply to this but I just can't choose. I'd probably some mash-up though. Because I'd want a lot of different things in there. At the very least, a sample-heavy pop song.
