Desperately seeking Susan.

Hey LJ land! Do you know of somebody, or are perhaps yourself somebody, who is looking for a place to live or somebody to fill a living place you already have?
I'm specifically interested in markets in the Greater San Francisco area (especially south bay) or Seattle/Portland. There is also interest in Michigan and Pennsylvania, but offers have been made for both locations.
Also, if you or somebody you know wants to employ a clever well read person with a history in customer service and creative work/proofreading, then this is your big chance!
Please write to me c/o this journal, and enclosed a SASE (current first class postage please). Allow six to eight hours for reply.

Hey, CJ!

I am looking for a place to live in the South Bay or peninsula area. I have a 60-pound lab/rottie mix dog. No deadline.

Plus, you are creative and cute! We should talk sometime. After Thursday, my schedule opens up a bit.

You find a place up here, you can have extended-housepet privileges for as long as you can stand sharing the craft room with the snakes.

I was contemplating moving to a larger place around these parts and could take in a charming homeless waif.

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2009-11-11 07:17 am (UTC)(link)
You wouldn't kill the waif when he became annoying?

[identity profile] miss-friday.livejournal.com 2009-11-11 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
Highly unlikely, I'm a peaceful gal.

This idea has potential.

Then we should talk via phone or email.

[livejournal.com profile] plymouth and [livejournal.com profile] auros are looking for a new housemate. My friend [livejournal.com profile] davetoo is looking for a place and, I expect, someone to share it with.

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2009-11-11 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
Ooo. I should get in touch with them. Thank you!

I remember you mentioning that you have a degree in history... is it a bachelors or a master's?

I only ask because it came up at lunch today that my company might be hiring an additional historian, and they might be hiring in Seattle. Drop me a line if you want to hear more. :)

Um, where in Michigan? I just ask because [livejournal.com profile] senatorhatty has a lot of family in Michigan, and it's a terrible, terrible place to look for work right now. Our area is better :)

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2009-11-13 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
It's north of Detroit and yes, it sucks for work. Free rent is a big selling point. How close to Penn State are you? (I have no idea.)

[identity profile] wildpaletz.livejournal.com 2009-11-13 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
We have a friend who moved to that exact area 3 years ago (and wants to game) and has had free rent--and has STILL not gotten a job. Seriously. There were hundreds of applicants to work at Home Depot. Family members of Chris's are losing their houses. It makes the Bay Area look like an easy place to live right now.

We're in Pittsburgh, which is far from Penn State, but does have jobs. Not lots, but it's also not as populated, so the competition is a little less fierce, I think.

Regardless, I'd advise getting a job before moving. Safer that way. Pittsburgh has craigslist and everything :).

I have word of a 5-bedroom house in Seattle seeking an additional housemate. Described as "awesome" and "a fantastic deal", and also includes some kind of kittycat (I can't remember if you're allergic to kittycats). Ping [livejournal.com profile] loree.

You are awesome. You may be a fantastic deal, but I am lacking in information there. (: (I have no significant allergy to pet dander.)
