So today I found out that I was expected, as a poll worker, to help set up the station the day before. I've already cut my holiday short one day so I called my station lead and told her I was unavailable.
And she said 'Oh dear! You're my only man. Now, who shall I get to do the heavy lifting?'
Keep in mind this woman has never met me and does not know that I am a sculpted Adonis with muculature that makes women weep with desire. For all she knows, I might be portly and weak in the upper body or, gods forbid, wheelchair bound.
No further rumination currently on the topic. Perhaps later.

*sigh* women like that set the whole gender equality battle back. granted, most of them are usually older and come from a time where that was the accepted attitude, but it still irks me.

I've learned not to let it bug me; because, for the most part, guys *are* stronger in upper body strength than women. It's not gender equality, it's biology in that case.

Heck. C-- *is* stronger than me in the arms. And I consider myself pretty strong for a girl.

Well, she was definitely a dumbass, but judging by the folks who man polling places around here, she might be about 87 years old (which explains both the antiquated attitude and the need for someone to lift things).

If not, she is a dumbass who needs to be smacked upside the head with a heavy box.

Sadly, I've yet to find a guy who has less upper body strength than me. Admittedly, I haven't tested someone in a wheelchair.

Admittedly, a fellow in a wheelchair is likely to have a good deal of upper body strength especially if he gets himself around.
