Quick question for my Windows-enhanced readers who are reading LJ at this hour:

How does one take a shortcut (preferably) or an actual .exe file and re-add it to the START menu? Especially if one is restricted due to security reasons. (I cannot access the task manager because I cannot be trusted at work to use it responsibly.)
This should warm you all up for Friday...

If you can access the Windows Explorer, it can be added into the Start Menu folder under C:\Documents and Folders\All Users\

I think. I'm not on the Windows machine to get the exact path, but if you drilldown there you should find a Programs folder under the Start Menu somewhere.

Yay! I knew it was something simple but nonintuitive. (: My fingers are crossed. (If it doesn't work then I'll make them send in the IT guys whose job it actually is to do this stuff and who get paid to do it.)

Welcome home! The fish tank light burned out, I think.

Hah. I made it work on one of the work computers--I should be able to translate it to the station I need it on.
