How was I to know she was with the Russians too?

Why is it my fault when the prof loses my paper?

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Because the prof has the power, and doesn't want it to be hir fault. Alternately, it's because the prof lost your paper because you rammed hir car one night after class, sending it sliding off the road into an unmanned pump at a petrol station. While the prof was able to escape the wreckage essentially unharmed, the paper was in the back seat of the spunky little VW Scirocco when it caught flame and was incinerated.
Actually, I like the second one much better. Forget the first one.

I didn't realize anyone saw that. Crap.

From the options presented here http://www.candyhaven.org/cakes.html , of what would your dream birthday cake consist?

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmmm. I think the carrot cake with the cream cheese frosting and the naked girl filling. Or the toffee ice cream cake.

[identity profile] roseneko.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I hereby volunteer to be the filling, except that I'll probably eat the cake from the inside out before it can be presented. I love me some carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. =D

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Cake for girl. That sounds like a perfectly acceptable trade to me. My birthday's in July. (:

[identity profile] mostuff.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll arm wrestle you for filling privileges. ;)

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I think that if you two are going to arm wrestle for that, it should be done naked in a pit of cream cheese frosting. My birthday is in July.

[identity profile] roseneko.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry to disappoint [livejournal.com profile] cyranocyrano, but I'm more than happy to exchange filling privileges in exchange for dibs on some of the delicious, delicious cake and frosting. =D

Awww.

Assuming it was not lupus, who would win a battle of wits between Gregory House and Sherlock Holmes?

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
If it's an antagonistic battle of wits, then I have to go with House because his misanthropy is so much better developed and he has that blood thirst and a genuine enjoyment of seeing somebody else suffer.
If it's some sort of competition toward a shared goal, then I'm probably going to go with Holmes because he seems to have a greater drive toward achievement of goals.
But isn't it always lupus?

[identity profile] miss-electra.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Not true! It was lupus once!

(Also, he keeps the spare vicodin in a book about lupus!)

[identity profile] roseneko.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I did hear about that, though I watch the show on DVD so I haven't seen that episode yet.

The vicodin-in-lupus-textbook scene was awesome, though. =D

[identity profile] miss-electra.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It really, really was.

And I shall say nothing more about the lupus, so as to avoid the spoilers. :)

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2008-02-02 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
And how did I let this thread go so far without using my Hugh Laurie icon?

[identity profile] miss-electra.livejournal.com 2008-02-02 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
I never knew before that Hugh Laurie could sing.

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2008-02-02 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
You need to watch more Jeeves and Wooster. (:

[identity profile] miss-friday.livejournal.com 2008-02-02 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
What she really needs to watch is "A Bit of Fry and Laurie".

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2008-02-02 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose that those people who have seen it already don't.

[identity profile] roseneko.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
In this age of instantaneous and increasingly pervasive text messaging, is vocalized communication doomed?

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Far from it. There's always going to be a place for a communication which includes tone of voice, mouthed sounds that don't really correspond to words, and even body language which is not strictly related to vocalized communication but tends to be linked.

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
So how many text messagers do you know who are willing to type out that whole thing? I'm betting that it's actually abbreviated to *sr*h or something like that.

[identity profile] roseneko.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never had a problem with it, but then I'm almost always typing on a full-size keyboard, so.

[identity profile] ashtoreth.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Why is cheese so goddamn tasty?

[identity profile] ashtoreth.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Dammit! I hereby change the question to BACON. Why is BACON so goddamn tasty?

(I hope the answer has something to do with nitrates.)

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry, there's a one question a week limit. Nitrates next week!

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
The cheese fairies sprinkle it with magic cheese dust. And then they lay fairy eggs inside the curd so that they may continue to propagate. It's this cunning attack on reproductive strategy that makes cheese fairies one of the few sylvan lines who are not declining in numbers.

Why is John Barrowman so damn sexy?

[identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com 2008-02-01 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
John Barrowman has no choice in the matter. He was cursed by a witch to be charming, sexy and a good singer. He often cries at night about the unfairness of it. And the only way the curse can be reversed is if he sleeps with me.
