Yesterday Matt Nathanson announced his opening acts for the tour, and we're getting Vanessa Carlton. And Amanda said oh hey, I've heard a song of hers--Pretty Baby. And, despite owning three of her four albums and seen her in concert once before, I was somehow unfamiliar with this song. So this morning I appealed to the YouTubes and I asked the oracles to enlighten me.

So, usually, when a video strikes me as a little creepy, it's not intentional. Well played, Miss Carlton.

It might be intentional. I think Ms. Carlton has a bit of a goth streak, on the one album I have of hers I know there are several songs that strike me as dark and melodramatic, plus she does a great cover of Paint it Black.
