Does anybody else get that coppery taste of irony in the back of their mouth when the television folks throw up their hands and declaim loudly about the luxury that the ruling caste in Iraq swims in while many of its citizens live in poverty?

In other news, I finally got to see Bend it Like Beckham and it was brill. Lithe girls and boss Irish boys playing football. Mmm. And a keen soundtrack, too. Coyote says four thumbs up.
