Tonight's review: Identity.
I'm not going to talk a lot about it because not knowing is part of the fun.
It's John Cusak so of course I liked it. But there were other reasons to enjoy it too. It's like Agatha Christie shooting up heroin and listening to the latest System of a Down album. Strong echoes of Ten Little Indians (perhaps occasionally too strong) as a group of people who are more closely linked than they might suspect are thrown together under unusual circumstances.
I was pleased with the performances, and found myself honestly anxious and moving toward the edge of my seat frequently during the film. The twist was nicely done and made me say "Oh!"
However, as is so often the case, the ending fell flat. I was disappointed not only with the fact that the wrap up was predictible but that it felt like I went from watching a suspenseful drama to watching the closing scene of a Friday the 13th movie.
I still give it four enthusiastic wags, four and a half if you just turn it off at the point where the girl drives off in the pick up truck.

Oh yeah, the other thing that happened today. I managed to arrange a forty hour work week at least through November, and it looks like I can do the same for December if I have the slightest interest.
Many of you know how surly and not happy I was over going from forty to thirty-eight to thirty-two hours because of the whole paying rent and buying groceries bull shit I seem to have grown accustomed to doing.
This will relieve a great deal of the pressure I was feeling and with luck will result in fewer nights of lying in bed wide awake staring at the ceiling and crying because I had no idea how I was going to come close to paying my bills.
Go me.

I'll second the motion: Go You! (I hope the forty hours are not all the shitty weekend hours you've had in the past.)

Not all of them--November is Wed thru Sun, 8 to 4:30.
It means I survive another few months, which I'm all over. (:

Quite possibly.
Welcome back? Or are you staying down for Dia de los Muertos?

Yeah, it's taken a lot of the weight off my shoulders.
Which is good because my right shoulder still really really hurts. ):

The massage didn't help?

Oh, it's your right shoulder? I tink I'm having sympathy pains!

It's my right shoulder, and if your right hand starts getting sympathy tingles like a blood vessel or a nerve is being pinched then please see somebody--some sort of sympathy doctor.
The massage seems to have done absolutely nothing for the shoulder, but was nice otherwise.

Happy Hourly Situation! :) Yes, having 40 hours to work is good, having them dissipate is bad... Congrats on your ability to magically make your hours re-appear... :)

...Now if *I* could just go buy groceries without having to deal with either picket lines and low stocked shelves or a 4 hour food shopping experience *THAT* would be nice...

Because like old mother hubbard... My cupboards are bare. ;)

Heh. Nothing magic. It's all about pimping and subtle threats and twisting arms.
So where do you shop that there are strikes?
(And if I'm allowed to flirt, given the pictures I've seen, your cupboards are not what I'd like to see bare.)

I'm in Southern California... unfortunately every supermarket save one by me is on strike and the one that isn't is like a three hour expedition just trying to get a parking spot, find the stuff through the throngs of people and wait in line for hours until you can check out... its... yukky to say the least.

*blush*

We came back Thursday, so we're mortified up here.

We did get some spiff chocolate skulls, though.
