Looks like I get no housemate tonight. She's stuck in Chicago for the night. But I think I'm going to take her home tomorrow when I get done with work.

Today Cari took me to see Pan. Which made me very happy. When I was little, I was given Robin Hood and Peter Pan as role models. Which should explain a few things. So the story is very important to me. And apparently it's also important to the people who made this movie.
The film looks gorgeous, often like a Maxfield Parrish painting. Many many small details delighted me, in addition to the big things like plot and characters.

It was wonderful *finally* getting to see Hook fly, and take away Peter's Happy Thoughts. It's something I wanted to see him do all along.
This is very much a Wendy And Peter movie, and the sexual tension is very nicely done. I liked the wire/cgi work--the flying actually looked a lot like flying most of the time.
Tinkerbell was kind of rotoscoped, the effect similar to the Green Fairy from Moulin Rouge. She was a little too cute at times, but I liked her. She was simple, a little savage, and a creature of impulse.
Kind of like Peter.
The soundtrack was very James Howard, so if you like that kind of thing then go for it.

Four and a half wags, maybe even five.

Day Eleven: Still not seen Return of the King.

Been meaning to ask for some time: What is half a wag? It sounds sort of like half a hole.

I suppose it means my tail goes off to one side and then just sort of stays there, not completing the full circuit of a wagging motion.

And, since I have to.... "Here--what are you going to do with half an hole?"

Alternately, half a wag might be a sort of a 'wa' if the vowel was appropriately schwa-like, since that noise really should only count for half a letter.

Nothing to do with your post

I was reading
[Error: Irreparable invalid markup ('<ljuser="cheekyweebisom">') in entry. Owner must fix manually. Raw contents below.]

I was reading <ljuser="cheekyweebisom">'s journal and saw your Max icon. I recieved Sleater-Kinney's One Beat for Christmas, and your user-pic is in the liner notes of the album. The band even wrote a song, "Light-rail Coyote". Also, at my boarding school I'm in Coyote Wing (we pretend to care about the environment and such). Sorry, I'll shut up now.

Glad to hear it was good. If I get to the movies before it goes away, I'll see if I can convince [livejournal.com profile] sulleniguana to go. I've always liked Peter Pan, even if he wasn't my role model. :)

I haven't seen it yet either, because I suck.

You could fix it, to keep your mind from wandering!
