See, one of the problems we've had that shows -- what we found out in New Orleans there's not -- there wasn't a lot of -- we take -- some things we take for granted like the generations passing assets from one generation to the next just didn't happen in the African American community, and should. We ought to encourage -- we take that for granted, don't we? Some of us do. You know, you pass the house on. A lot of these people didn't own their own homes. A lot of them didn't have checking accounts. And yet one of the things we ought to encourage is systems -- is reforms that enable somebody to own something so they can pass it on to their child. It's part of creating stability and healthy families and strength. And so I want to be known as an ownership guy.

Radio reporter says the lines're all dead

So with the spiraling deterioration of my recharger and my continued inability to hear anything on my cel phone, I went to Radio Shack and upgraded. Apparently I was clear for an upgrade in 2003 and if I'd done it then I'd be ready for another upgrade today.
So yeah. My new phone does not have Sousa's Liberty March as a ringtone option. (It has, in fact, surprizingly little--8 tones and 10 melodies--in its library.) And my old phone is so antiquated that there is apparently no way to transfer my phone library over except by hand. There's a lot of history on this phone. I don't think I'll move Chanel's number to the new phone. I haven't talked to her since a drunk driver going the wrong way on I-5 rammed her car and killed her and her son.
