Gong Hai Fat Choy!
Jan. 28th, 2006 11:46 pmGot into Seattle at about two-ish and should have called Tersa then but didn't even think about it until about eleven-thirty when I thought she might be asleep. Anyway. We grabbed some quick lunch and discussed what movies we'd seen recently, and so then we went back to his place and put in BlackAdder so I could show him Tim McInnerny, Rik Mayall and Hugh Laurie. Then we got changed and scooted off to James and Kira's place for socializing and dinner at... Thai Siam? James bumped him maximum Siamese spiciness up half a star, after the waitress forbade him to jump a full star at once. Then Larry and I went to the Century Ballroom where it was salsa night. I promised Kira that I would make Larry dance, and failed. But I met a delightful young lady named Kate during the lesson portion who asked me to come look her up during general dance. I did, and we discussed the gentleman she was there with while I taught her rhumba basics. I had forgotten how hot these clubs get. I had also forgotten how little support my dance shoes give me. I don't know whether it was the heat or the caffeine or the spicy Thai but my stomach was starting to hurt, as were my kidneys, and so I asked if we could bail early. Larry has promised to go back to salsa night and ask Kate to teach him the basics and to tell her I said hi and that I didn't run out just because I found out she was there with somebody. (:
Tomorrow morning I turn right around and (I hope) get on an airplane to Salt Lake City and then to Idaho for a few days with the folks.
