Yo no soy marinero
May. 20th, 2006 11:25 amDo I have any fluent (or at least comfortable) Spanish speakers on the list?
(The latin mix (as opposed to the Latin mix, full of Gregorian chant) is coming to fruition and is at this point lacking a song order, liner notes and formalization on the title. The first disc is, and has been for some time, 'Caliente'. It's the addition of the second disc that's throwing me. I'm thinking Mas 'Caliente', Mas de 'Caliente', El Otro 'Caliente', or something along those lines and I really don't want it to sound like Spangrish.)
(And oh yeah. The first disc is pretty much straight up traditional sounds: Celia Cruz, Perez Prado, Oscar D'Leon, Mambo All Stars and whatnot. The second disc is for stuff like Brave Combo, Concrete Blonde y los Illegals, Santana, the Gipsy Kings doing Hotel California, Shakira and the like. On my jukebox it's labelled 'Caliente Nuevo' but I'm not even sure if it'd be NuevO or NuevA.)
